WHEN IS THE MARKET?

Lewisham Food Market will launch on Sunday 6 August 2023 and be held on the first Sunday of the month, 10am-4pm

Yes, the market will be free to attend.

WHERE IS IT?

In Cornmill Gardens, opposite Lewisham train station beside the Glass Mill Leisure Centre.

WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS?

Lewisham Food Market will run from 10am to 4pm on the first Sunday of every month.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

We advise coming to Lewisham Food Market by foot or public transport. The market is directly opposite Lewisham train station and the Lewisham DLR. 

You can also take the 21, 47, 136, 225, 436, or 321 bus.

Paid car parking available at Molesworth Street Car Park.
There are 54 spaces available in total, 5 of which are disabled spaces. 

ARE THERE BIKE RACKS AT CATFORD MARKET?

Yes, there are 30 bike racks at the market.

IS IT ACCESSIBLE?

Our location at Cornmill Gardens is fully paved and has many dropped curbs so it is accessible for wheelchairs, buggies and shopping trolleys.

DOES LEWISHAM FOOD MARKET HAVE PUBLIC TOILETS?

There are no toilets at the market but facilities are available across the road at Lewisham Shopping Centre

IS IT SMOKE FREE?

Yes, Lewisham Food Market operates a smoke free policy in all areas.

And don’t worry about getting thirsty, you’ll find natural wines, award-winning local spirits, and outstanding coffee, too.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Dogs are welcome at the Lewisham Food Market as long as they are on leads at all times. Please bag any mess they make and either use the bins provided or take it home.

WHAT DO I DO IF I LOSE SOMETHING DURING MY VISIT?

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to monitor and store lost property, so can’t be held liable for anything lost during the market. If you lose something during your visit, we recommend that you report it to a steward, and on the Metropolitan Police lost and found online tool.

CAN I USE MY DEBIT CARD?

All of our traders take card payments but there are ATMs in Lewisham Shopping Centre across the road

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I HAVE AN ALLERGY OR INTOLERANCE?

There are lots of options at Lewisham Food Market, so we can cater for most people. Our traders can provide full allergen and dietary information on request, so speak to them directly before ordering. Please note that Lewisham Food Market is NOT nut free.

PLEASE ALSO BE AWARE THAT THE LEWISHAM FOOD MARKET IS NOT A WHOLLY VEGAN MARKET AND SOME TRADERS SELL VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN ITEMS ALONGSIDE MEAT BASED PRODUCTS.

WHO RUNS LEWISHAM FOOD MARKET?

Lewisham Food Market is run by a team of specialists in events management, community engagement, urban regeneration, social media, town centre management and place-making. 

You may know their work from, amongst other things, Catford Food Market, the Catford Gin Festival, the revived Catford Beer Festival, House of Catford and House of Lewisham.

HOW CAN I BECOME A LEWISHAM FOOD MARKET TRADER?

To trade at the market you must have public liability insurance, a food hygiene certificate, a recent risk assessment (HACCP) relating to food safety practice, and have registered with your local authority.

IS THERE A MEMBERSHIP FEE TO TRADE AT LEWISHAM FOOD MARKET?

Unlike other markets, we do not charge a membership fee to be able to trade with us. For each market you trade at you will be required to pay a pitch fee, but no membership fee.
